Mystery Callers “Poll” Vincent Citizens About Quarry-Create Bogus Opinion Poll
The Shelby County Reporter is reporting that Vincent residents have been receiving calls from unknown callers who claim to be from White Rock Quarries.
The story, which you can read here, reveals that a consultant for EBSCO insists his company is not behind the calls. Neither is White Rock.
Jo Mudd of the Vincent Historical and Environmental Society is quoted as saying her organization is not involved with the calling, nor does she believe White Rock would be, given the nature of the questions being asked.
According to residents who have received them, the calls take the form of what political professionals call a “push” poll, in which the caller pretends to be taking a poll while, in fact, imparting misinformation and scare tactics instead.
